Arch Giotopoulos is head Barista and coffee trainer for Grinders Coffee located in Melbourne.
Tell us a little bit about your background as a Barista
I started my training as a Grinders Coffee CBD delivery driver, where I observed and sampled amazing coffee from some of the best baristas in town. I started to ask lots of questions and began assisting our clients to pull the perfect shot. With a new passion I seized an opportunity to work within the Grinders Coffee Training Centre where I learned all the skills to brewing the perfect coffee.
What do you like about working as a barista?
The unique experience of each brew.
What skill do you bring to the bar?
Focus on the shot.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Coffee is my inspiration, the common bond it signifies in all cultures and societies.
What’s your signature drink?
I can’t go past brewing a Doppio Ristretto.
What are your plans for the future?
Learn to brew different styles of coffee and learn of their cultural significance.
