  2. Exercise regularly, 30 minutes or more at least 3 - 4 times weekly.
  3. Measure your blood glucose levels regularly.
  4. See your doctor at regular intervals.
  5. Only drink alcoholic in moderation.
  6. Do not smoke.
  7. Have your blood pressure and cholesterol checked and treated if high.
  8. Join support groups if you think they will help you.
  9. If you are too heavy, lose weight.
  10. Maintain a positive 'stay well' attitude.
