EQUAL was proud to be one of the sponsors of the Rocks Aroma Coffee Festival. The Rocks Aroma is known as the largest coffee festival in the Southern hemisphere where visitors could grab freshly roasted blends for as little as $2 per cup. This year, the festival allowed people to discover their inner gourmet traveller with a coffee experience in four parts of the world; The Latin Quarter, The Orient, The Continent & The Oasis.

EQUAL’s involvement at the Rocks Aroma included giving visitors the chance to win a $1000 Westfield voucher just by guessing the number of Equal sachets in the box under a Giant Equal coffee sculpture. As well as the major prize, a minor prize was drawn on the day of a fabulous coffee and chocolate hamper valued at $150. In addition to the competition, EQUAL invited patrons to sample a free coffee at Voodoo espresso just by trying EQUAL Sweetener in their coffee.

The team at EQUAL would like to congratulate Neil Schiff and Paul Kaplun, our winners of the major and minor prizes. Neil’s guess of 36,750 was only 23 sachets away from the total of 36,727, a quite remarkable achievement.

If you weren’t able to attend the Rocks Aroma this year, ensure you pencil it in your diary for next year as it is definitely an event you would not want to miss twice.

The Queenstown Winterfestival in New Zealand is the ultimate winter party in the Southern Hemisphere. The 10 day event consisted of a number of activities that left you feeling stunned, exhilarated and wishing for more. On show were live music and fireworks on the opening night, the arts and crafts markets, mountain bikes tackling the downhill course, Mardi Gras plus other entertaining activities.

As a festival sponsor, EQUAL provided patrons at Joe’s Garage a free coffee when tried with Equal. Further to the free coffee, EQUAL ran a competition where visitors could win $1000 cold hard cash just by filling out an entry form and submitting it at Joe’s or entering online.

Congratulation goes to our winner, Annaliese Mackail of Queenstown, NZ. We’re sure you’ll have a fabulous time spending the cash.

‘Wicked Sunday’

Equal was excited to continuing its involvement with this Fabulous event showcasing some of Melbourne’s best coffee companies and roasters, along with a delicious array of cakes, chocolate, cheese and other decadent delights.

Our Equal ‘Win a sweet treat’ guessing competition attracted a great response with the huge crowd overwhelmed with the Equal logo box and jumbo Equal sticks. Getting close to the number of Equal sticks in the logo box was tricky with guesses ranging from 100 to 1 million.

Congratulations to our eventual major prize winner, Sophie Balmforth of VIC with a guess of 1,893, which was only 6 off the actual count of 1,887 Equal sticks. Sophie wins a Nintendo Wii prize pack for the closest guess.

Also, congratulations to Katherine Sheedy of Victoria who won our minor prize drawn on the day of a Max Brenner Ultimate Indulgence Pack.

If you missed this event this year, don’t forget to put it in your diary for next year as it is an event not to be missed (especially for those Melbournian coffee/chocolate lovers).

Each year Equal and Café Biz join forces to reward Australia’s best coffee roasters with The Equal Golden Bean Roaster Competition. Held as part of a 4 day festival in Port Macquarie NSW, the event brings together over half of the nation’s specialty coffee roasters and creates a strong networking bond between those who participate.
